Unlocking ProFicient Administrator Account

To unlock or reset your ProFicient administrator account, please do the following, based on your ProFicient version:

ProFicient Version 3 or Newer

  1. In your database administration software (for example, SQL Server Management Studio), open the SECU_INF table.
  2. In the F_ADMIN field, replace all values of 1 with 0 (zero), and then save the SECU_INF table.
  3. On the ProFicient computer, open Database Manager.
  4. In the list of available DSNs, click the ProFicient Data Source Name, and then click the OK button.

  5. In the User Profile: Administrator dialog box, type the following:

    • Company: Your Company Name
    • Division: Your Division
    • Site: Your Company Site
    • Department: Your Department
    • Employee ID: Your ID
    • Employee Name: Your Name
    • Employee Email: Your E-Mail Address
    • Sign In Name: Your Administrator User Name
    • Password: Your Administrator Password
    • Confirm Password: Retype Your Administrator Password

    Click the OK button.

  6. In the User Sign In dialog box, type your ProFicient Sign In Name and your ProFicient Password, and then click the OK button.

  7. Point all employee information records to this new administrator role.

ProFicient Version 2 or Older (with Database Table Rename)

  1. In your database administration software (for example, SQL Enterprise Manager), rename the EMPL_SEC table to xEMPL_SEC, adding an x in front of the table name.
  2. On the ProFicient computer, open Database Manager.
  3. In the list of available DSNs, click the ProFicient Data Source Name, and then click the OK button.

    NOTE: Close all error messages related to the missing EMPL_SEC table.

    NOTE: DO NOT close Database Manager.

  4. In your database administration software, rename the xEMPL_SEC table to EMPL_SEC.
  5. Using Database Manager, reset the passwords for all locked out users.

ProFicient Version 2 or Older (without Database Table Rename)

NOTE: You may also use this procedure for InfinityQS SPC 2004.

  1. In your database administration software (for example, SQL Enterprise Manager), open the EMPL_SEC table, and then locate the current non-administrator employee and note the Role ID in the employee's record.
  2. Open the SECU_INF table, and then locate the role associated with Role ID noted above.
  3. In the ADMIN field, set the value to 1 and set all other field values to 0 (zero), and then save the SECU_INF table.
  4. Close and reopen the SECU_INF table to verify the changes.
  5. On the ProFicient computer, open Database Manager.
  6. In the list of available DSNs, click the ProFicient Data Source Name, and then click the OK button.

  7. In the User Sign In dialog box, type your ProFicient Sign In Name and your ProFicient Password, and then click the OK button.

    NOTE: Be sure to log in with the non-administrator employee username and password that you modified above.

    The user is now a ProFicient administrator.
